Books for Children Learning to Read

Most ClearVision books have the brailled text interleaved with the print pages on clear plastic sheets. The text and pictures are visible through the brailled sheets and where possible we try to make sure that the braille reader's hands will not cover the print text so that the books can be read by print and braille readers simultaneously.

Learning to Read

The collection includes books to cater for all tastes and abilities. Some ClearVision books have a very few words on the page; others are more challenging. We do not stock reading schemes apart some books from the Oxford Reading Tree produced by RNIB.

BBC Children in Need has sponsored the addition of 500 books with double-line-spaced braille to help readers in the early stages of reading. Most of our books are available in grade 1 or grade 2 braille.

All books added to the ClearVision library since 1999 use the braille capital sign.
